 Did the Resistance Triumph or Falter? By: Dr. Hussein Musa Al-Yemeni Writer and Researcher in International and Economic Relations The cessation of the war in Gaza after 467 days, despite the destruction and loss of life, marks a great triumph of truth over falsehood. How can it not, when Allah Almighty has promised us one of two outcomes: either victory or martyrdom, and both are of great honor. Perhaps someone might say: What victory can be claimed after such widespread destruction in Gaza? Not a stone, tree, or human was spared—so what kind of victory is this? The truth is, Gaza, the land of dignity, achieved a monumental victory politically and militarily on both internal and external fronts, as well as socially and psychologically, in several aspects: --- First: Failure of the Occupation The occupation failed miserably to eliminate the resistance. Instead, the resistance inflicted severe losses upon the occupier, maintaining its strength and even breaking the enemy’s power and deterrence. The occupier was also unable to recover its captives and was forced to succumb humiliated to the demands and conditions of the resistance. Let us remember that falsehood may have its moment, but truth has many victories. Allah says: "And on that Day, the believers will rejoice * In the victory of Allah. He helps whom He wills, and He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful." [Surah Ar-Rum, 4-5] Indeed, this is a victory in every sense: Gaza has become a symbol of global resistance against injustice, tyranny, and occupation. --- Victory on the Political Front Gaza achieved significant political gains as the resistance successfully exposed the true face of the occupation to the world. It has become increasingly difficult for the occupation's supporters to justify its brutal aggression. Free voices worldwide have risen to defend the rights of the Palestinian people and demand the occupier’s accountability. Additionally, the truth has been unveiled globally, and support for the resistance has grown. Despite continuous efforts to fracture Palestinian unity, the resistance proved that the Palestinian people stand united against aggression. They have realized that the only path to reclaim their rights is through continuous resistance, especially as the world acknowledges the illegitimacy of the occupation and affirms that defending one’s land is a right sanctioned by religion, humanity, and law. Global Support for the Resistance Massive demonstrations worldwide have amplified this support, turning major capitals into arenas condemning the occupation and advocating the Palestinian people's right to resistance and self-determination. Palestine has become a universal symbol of freedom and struggle. Diplomatic Embarrassment The heinous crimes committed by the occupier have provoked global outrage, prompting some countries to reassess their relationships with it—a severe political blow to the occupation. --- Victory on the Military Front Despite the occupation’s use of overwhelming force, it failed to achieve its declared objectives in Gaza. On the contrary: The Miracle of Resistance: The resilience of the resistance was a true marvel that future generations will commemorate. Even when the forces of falsehood gathered against a vulnerable population, they could not defeat them. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken even admitted that defeating the resistance was impossible. Adaptation and Growth: The resistance demonstrated its ability to rapidly rebuild its structures, recruit numbers exceeding its losses, and continue launching its rockets and striking the enemy, despite the siege and destruction. Military Innovation: The resistance’s strategic use of tunnels significantly weakened the military and technological capabilities of the occupation. This tactic will likely inspire other nations and be studied in academic and military circles. Breaking the Myth of Invincibility: The occupation's losses in personnel, equipment, and the failure of its Iron Dome system have proven the resistance's capability to deter and retaliate effectively. Psychological Deterrence The occupation no longer holds exclusive power over deterrence. It now fears the consequences of every act of aggression it undertakes. Victory on the Social and Psychological Front Unyielding Faith: The people of Gaza displayed unparalleled resilience and unwavering belief in Allah’s promise of victory, strengthening the foundation of the resistance. Unity Among the People: Gaza’s society, far from collapsing, became an unparalleled stronghold for the resistance. Determination to Rebuild: Despite the devastation, the Palestinian people persist in rebuilding their lives, sending a powerful message to the world that the will to live triumphs over the tools of death. The Miracle of Steadfastness What astonished the world and baffled its understanding was how the besieged resistance, subjected to the most devastating attacks, remained defiant and strong against one of the most formidable military powers. The answer lies in Allah’s promise and divine support. Victory comes not from numbers or weapons but from Allah alone, who strengthens those who hold fast to His ro.  Lessons from the Battle of “Al-Aqsa Flood” 1. The Truth Prevails: No matter the strength of falsehood, truth will always triumph in the end. 2. Resilience and Determination: Despite the destruction, the Palestinian people’s resolve to rebuild their lives and embrace martyrdom as a pathway to eternal life proved their invincible spirit. Allah says: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. It is a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment." [Surah At-Tawbah, 111] 3. Support from the Ummah: The resistance relies on the support of the Islamic and Arab nations politically, financially, and through media—to continue achieving victories. In Conclusion The events in Gaza are not merely a military conflict but a battle of wills between truth and falsehood, between those who fight for freedom and dignity and those who seek to subjugate. This victory heralds hope for all the oppressed worldwide, proving that resistance can shatter the dominion of oppressors and that Palestine will forever remain a symbol of dignity and resilience. Allah says: "Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them there is forgiveness and a great reward."
