Turkey Between Functional Role and the Illusion of Readiness By Dr. Hussein Yamani Writer and Researcher in International Economic Relations The most dangerous tools of colonialism are not those that appear in the form of direct occupation, nor those that explicitly raise its banners. Rather, perhaps the most dangerous are those that succeed in appearing as an alternative, granting peoples a ray of hope, and leaving an impression in their souls that there is a coming power that will carry the banner, unite the ranks, and restore the presence of the Ummah. Colonialism, in our reading of its political behavior, does not treat peoples as silent masses. Rather, it studies the dynamics of societies, their psychologies, and their aspirations, seeking the points of strength and weakness in the collective consciousness.
